Private Education Policy Forum (PEP Forum) is looking for volunteers concentrating on ‘major donor fundraising’. You’ll work together and help bring ‘major donors’ to us, helping us to grow as a thinktank.
Our mission is to produce research and debate that helps policymakers reduce the inequalities between private and state schools in the UK.
We’ve identified a list of wealthy people in politics, business, the arts and elsewhere who we believe could support our mission. Our next steps are to reach out to them, develop relationships with them and get them supporting PEP Forum.
Our 3 new major donor fundraisers will join existing volunteers focusing on this project. You’ll create successful connections with people on our list, by researching them, approaching them, building a relationship with them and gently persuading them to donate or to help us in other ways.
Like everyone at PEP Forum, our major donor fundraisers are volunteers who work flexibly, distribute tasks as they see fit and support one another. You’ll be supported by author and PEP Forum board member Robert Verkaik, and you’ll work remotely. There is opportunity to eventually branch out into other forms of fundraising and other tasks at PEP Forum.
And in return? You’ll be part of a lovely, informal group of volunteers – including board members – who regularly chat, socialise together and support each other’s careers.
We would love to hear from adults of all ages, identities and backgrounds. You’ll be great if you:
- Feel genuinely engaged with our mission
- Have experience researching topics, people and/or organisations in depth, in order toplan an approach
- Are affable, confident and clear communicating with a wide range of peopleelectronically and in-person (our ‘major donor’ prospects will vary in age and socialbackground and will likely have status in their own fields of work)
- Organise your own time well and stick to your commitments
- Communicate reliably about your availability, progress and challengesYou might have previous experience in fundraising (great!) but you may also pull these strengths together from other areas of your work or life (also great!).
